Photovoltaic workshop for self-consumption
This form of production makes it possible, at little cost, to install photovoltaic panels, to produce electricity (230V) and to inject it into one's home. We will discuss together the notions of dimensioning, locations but also the limits or administrative constraints.
After a theoretical part to optimize the installation, we will assemble a complete kit of one panel, then we will see the complete elements for two or more panels.
Objective: at the end of this day, you will be able to self-install a complete system.
Programme of the workshop on self-consumption photovoltaics :
Theory
- Solar solutions tour: Passive solar, Solar thermal, Air panels, Photovoltaic - Comparison of solutions
- Operating principle of a silicon photovoltaic cell
- Ecology and photovoltaics: Recycling, Grey energy, CO².
- The different types of installations: Total sale, Self-consumption and partial sale, Total self-consumption, What about solutions with batteries?
- Understanding: Power in W, Energy Wh. Specificity of photovoltaics the Wp
- Background noise?
- Measuring your consumption
- Self-consumption, self-generation and coverage rates?
- Sizing and optimisation of a self-consumption system: Orientation, Tilt
- Administrative constraints
- The Linky meter in a self-consumption installation
- The components of a self-consumption system: VDE standard, direct socket kit, panel kit via DC/DC box
Practice
- Sunscreen studies
- Assembly and commissioning of a complete panel kit
- Example of the assembly of a multi-panel kit
If you are not yet a member of the association Ateliers verts du solaire, you will be asked to pay 10 Euro for the first day, for the annual membership.

The Green Solar Workshops are moments designed to learn and understand how to use and install renewable energy solutions, especially solar. Our goal is for individuals to be able to quickly and easily install solutions that improve their energy independence.
Most of the workshops have a theoretical part, but also a practical part with equipment that you can try and install.
Our challenge: One day! In just one day, you will in most cases be able to install the systems we show you yourself.
Shared moments: Our desire is to share our knowledge with you, to help you understand and install. For this we favour a simple relationship, that's why we want the day to be a day of sharing between us, by having lunch together, discussing, listening, exchanging our points of view, we don't have the solution, only pieces 😉
Number of people per course: In order to fully benefit from the workshops, the courses are limited to a maximum of 8 people.
Who should attend the Green Solar Workshops? People who have little or no knowledge of solar energy and who want to install solutions that improve their energy autonomy quickly, easily and without too much expense. People who want to move from theory to practice with a little help.
It is not necessary to have any particular knowledge, neither technical nor in DIY, even if it will be necessary to start!
