After a theoretical part on dimensioning - a very important part of this solar system - we will discuss the choice of location, the different techniques and the administrative constraints. We will assemble a complete kit and test it. Thanks to the new tools and materials, you no longer need to know how to weld, the realization becomes simple and accessible to all.

Objective: At the end of the day, you will be able to self-install a complete system or understand a professional quote.

Theory

• Calculating an energy requirement for heating water

• System sizing and optimisation :
  • Orientation
  • Tilt
•  Sun Mask
•  The different solar thermal systems: Pressurised, thermosiphon, self-draining
•  The problem of overheating: explanation of the phenomenon, resolutions.
•  System sizing
•  The different types of panels (advantages, disadvantages): High efficiency, painted, tubes
•  Study of a technical diagram: the elements that make up a solar system
•  Study of the elements of a kit
•  The energy complement: boiler, resistance...
•  Plumbing :
  • Specific fittings (stainless steel and copper)
  • Multi-layer
  • How to make a seal: gasket, wire ... demonstration of different methods and materials
• Electronic control: connection and operation
• Filling the solar circuit
• Maintenance and repair

Practice

• 1-day workshop:
  There is little practice for the participants as the programme is full. The material is discovered, presented and explained. Demonstration of the plumbing elements.
• 2-day workshop:
  The theoretical programme is the same but spread over two days. There is time for practice:
  - Creation of a solar mask: two methods
  - Vacuum assembly of a solar system (in groups)

If you are not yet a member of the association Ateliers verts du solaire, you will be asked to pay 10 Euro for the first day, for the annual membership.

The Green Solar Workshops are moments designed to learn and understand how to use and install renewable energy solutions, especially solar. Our goal is for individuals to be able to quickly and easily install solutions that improve their energy independence.
Most of the workshops have a theoretical part, but also a practical part with equipment that you can try and install.

Our challenge: One day! In just one day, you will in most cases be able to install the systems we show you yourself.

Shared moments: Our desire is to share our knowledge with you, to help you understand and install. For this we favour a simple relationship, that's why we want the day to be a day of sharing between us, by having lunch together, discussing, listening, exchanging our points of view, we don't have the solution, only pieces 😉

Number of people per course: In order to fully benefit from the workshops, the courses are limited to a maximum of 8 people.

Who should attend the Green Solar Workshops? People who have little or no knowledge of solar energy and who want to install solutions that improve their energy autonomy quickly, easily and without too much expense. People who want to move from theory to practice with a little help.
It is not necessary to have any particular knowledge, neither technical nor in DIY, even if it will be necessary to start!
