Solar recipe: sourdough and seed crackers

If you’re a fan of homemade bread and self-sufficiency, then sourdough is no stranger to you. To keep it alive on a daily basis, you feed it flour and water, and discard any excess fermented dough. Unfortunately, “discarded sourdough” is all too often thrown away, even though it can be transformed or incorporated into delicious recipes. Solar oven : box type, SunTaste – Preparation time : 30 mn – Cooking time : 2h30mn

Ingredients for 8 people

  • 250 g liquid sourdough (active or to be discarded)
  • 1 c. to c. salt, 30 g sunflower seeds
  • 30 g sesame seeds
  • paprika and oregano

Preparing the recipe for Sourdough and Seed Crackers

  • Oil a dark baking sheet. Pour in the sourdough and smooth the surface with a spatula (allow 3 mm for thickness).
  • Sprinkle with salt, seeds, paprika and oregano to taste.
  • Place in the solar oven and bake for 1 hour.
  • Cut the dough into small rectangles for easier cutting later.
  • Return to the oven for 1h30. Then finish drying in the sun for an afternoon (or with a solar dehydrator) for a crunchy result.
